There are a good number of pilot training schools around the country, but very few can match the experience that Coast Flight Academy provides. We're the only Cirrus Standardized Training Center in San Diego based at Montgomery Field (KMYF) and we have another office in at Palomar Airport(KCRQ). Our San Diego flight school is equipped with everything you need to become a competent professional pilot in no time.
The aircraft - We train our students in the best selling private planes of the past 10 years: the Cirrus and the Cessna. The Cirrus is America's top seller in the last decade as far as private aircraft is concerned and it's loaded with some of the most advanced safety and technological features in the private aviation scene. You'll learn how to fly the plane of your choice while having fun when you enroll in Coast.
The flight training methodology - Most flight training schools train their pilots the same way that aviators have been brought up into the industry for decades: with repetitive maneuvers that may teach moves, but does not necessarily give them confidence to venture beyond the training area or react properly in unfamiliar situations. Our San Diego flight training center breaks new ground by avoiding the old teaching method and introducing a fun and innovative one that gets future pilots ready to take on the skies with the proper kmowledge and mindset. The Coast Flight Academy offers a Cirrus transition course that will train professional pilots in handling all models of Cirrus aircraft. This program is designed to build a high level of competency in its trainees through a scenario-based curriculum. Earning a certification under this course means that a pilot can fly the Cirrus under normal and abnormal situations in both VFR and IFR conditions.
The core of the Cirrus transition program will focus on improving judgment, aeronautical decision making, risk management and single pilot resource management. All of these ski9lls will be honed through the scenario based system that simulates real world flight conditions with the Cirrus.
After meeting all the Cirrus transition course prerequisites, a certificate is issued by the Coast Flight instructor to the trainee with details on flight and ground time acquired. This does not constitute a FAA practical test or Biennial Flight Review (BFR), but there are options available if a BFR is desired. Our San Diego flight training center will help you meet all licensing and certification requirements to set your aviation career up with no hassles. Read More
